Mangaluru, Jul 2: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader and MLC Ivan D’Souza handed over a Rs 5 lac cheque from Mescom to the family of Raju, an auto-rickshaw driver who was electrocuted near Rosario High School. The presentation took place at the Circuit House in the city on Monday.
MLC Ivan D’Souza instructed Padmavati, the managing director of Mescom, to take the necessary steps to provide Rs 5 lac in compensation to the family of another victim once the required documents are obtained.
The event was attended by Mamata Gatty, president of the Cashew Development Corporation, Sadashiva Ullala, president of MUDA, Vasant Shetty, president of the Rickshaw Drivers’ Association, as well as Rajesh Veeranagara, Ganesh Ullala, Bharat Kumar, Habibullah, Aliston, and other notable individuals.
