Daijiworld Media Network –Mangalore/Ahmedabad

Mangalore, Oct 28: In a bid to help her lover who belongs to Mangalore, to clear his debts, a 20-year-old girl conspired to abduct her own five-year-old cousin Adithya.

Payal Balachandrani residing at Mani Nagar, Ahmedabad kidnapped her own cousin Adithya with the help of her lover, Mangalorean Nishanth Shetty (21) and his friends Dhanwik Shah (24), Devendra Shukla (21). Police sources say that after kidnapping the little one, they demanded Rs 1 crore from the family.

Crime branch DCP Himamshu Shukla received a complaint that Payal and Adithya, who had gone out to buy medicines were missing. The police started tracing them after Rs 1 crore was demanded by the kidnappers.

The kidnappers told the family to send the money to nearby club. After negotiations they decreased the amount to Rs 50 lac. Dhanwik Shah and Devendra Shukla had come to collect the money to the club. When police arrested the duo and investigated the case, involvement of lover girl in the kidnap was revealed to the police.

Investigations also proved that they had planned to kill Aditya whether or not they got the money as he would have exposed the plot.

It was also revealed that Aditya had been locked up in a closed office on the seventh floor of Wall Street building near Gujarat College. When the cops reached there, they found Nishant standing with him.

Nishanth Shetty was in the habit of involving in betting and had lost Rs 10 lac. His lady love thus went to his aid through this kidnap scheme.  Also, during police interrogation, it is learnt that a, year ago Payal had stolen gold worth Rs 65,000 and had handed it over to her lover Nishanth.

This bloody love story reminds of a similar love story which happened 2 decades back. One Engineering out student Ravindra Prasad from Mysore used to hire car for a long tour and killed car drivers with his partners. After killing them he used to sell stolen cars.He killed 6 car drivers(udupi driver too).Interestingly he had 2 male partners and one girl friend to help him. Finally he was arrested with parteners and given 14 years life imprisonment.Girl friend was not jailed because she acted as approver. This incident became Karnataka's sensational news that time.Serial killer's brother was leading lawyer in Mysore who argued for his brother like a real warrior and saved him in 3 murders.Killer was so sharp and intellignet that when he was put in udupi jail for 3days,he smuggled blade through toothpaste and escaped from udupi jail.Later he was nabbed in Kasargod.Daiji's kidnap news brought old memories of serial killer.

Some people commenting seems to be over educated. This is their personal problem and their parents will look into the issue. There is nothing to blame political parties or politicians in this matter. Our media channels are waiting only for such news and add their own masalas in the news. Also such news will make the people happy who always wait for an opportunity to blame BJP state govt and RSS.

There's no meaning in blaming politicians, parties or governments for such individual acts. Do you mean to say such incidents would not have occured if other party govt. was in power?

We give our love and care to our cousins, especially when they are so young. By the age of 20 this female has done it all: robbery, plot to kill "cousin" and may be so many other mean things and all that to assist the so called "lover" with his gambling - well done - what is next plot? Rot in jail you heartless animals. They should be kept away from the society, specially from children. Long live the terrified child who would have been a history if timely help has not reached. It sends shivers down my spine. God bless the kid and parents and help them live through this ordeal.
