Kundapur: Hill collapses on house due to landslide in Kollur; woman killed

Kundapur, Jul 4: A landslide triggered by the heavy rainfall of recent days caused the collapse of a hill near Vishwanath Adiga's house in Dali, Kollur, leading to the death of a woman.

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, July 4 at around 4 PM.

The deceased has been identified as Amba (45), a resident of Hallibere and a member of the Kudubi community.

The landslide struck the rear of Vishwanath Adiga's house while Amba was washing utensils outside. The house also sustained damage from the incident.

Amba's body has been transported to the Kundapur government hospital. A case has been registered at the Kollur police station.

    Sad to hear this.When we see the picture of house how it is built,a clear picture how and where they built.Simply just under the hillock was to expect when heavy rains are there to comedown whole thing,House should have built away from this hills and trees. May her soul rest in peace.Now atleast they should react and at back of the house a stonewall should be built so that next danger may not occur.
