Viva Popstar Anushka Dazzles Kuwait at 'Indian Fiesta'

Kuwait, Oct 29: The much-awaited super hit show “Indian Fiesta 2011” was organized at the Entertainment City, Doha on Friday October 28. This was the 15th grand event in Kuwait by Hot Stepper, the entertainment wing of the Creative Indians.
The highlight of the carnival was the performances by Indian singer and former channel [V] VJ and member of former Indian pop girl group Viva, Anushka Manchanda, accompanied by the versatile singer /music composer Harshit Saxena. The day offered tons of free rides, games, discount stalls, mouth watering Indian food stalls, dance performances, music, and a whole lot more of entertainment.
After the fun and frolic from the rides during the day, the evening started with songs and music played by “STYX” children’s band at 6.00 pm. As a formal inauguration, His Excellency the Ambassador of India to Kuwait Satish C. Mehta inaugurated the souvenir and spoke few words in presence of Prashanth D’souza – president and Vinod D’Souza –Vice president and members of Creative Indians Association.
The local dance groups Break House, Ground Zero and Fusion Dance Academy entertained the audience with their spectacular dances for the music played by DJ Flames and for the songs of visiting artists. Lots of spot prizes were distributed to the audience. The sponsors were felicitated by the organizers with mementos.
When a Kuwaiti Mubarak Al Azmi sung old classic Hindi songs, the whole crowd overwhelmed and given a huge response for the love of Hindi songs among the Kuwaitis.
The entry of Harshit Saxena entertained the audience with his superb voice and classic numbers of old and new Hindi Movies. Harshit Saxena is an Indian Singer and music composer. He is one of the well-known contestants of Amul STAR Voice of India and Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar. He made his playback debut in Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan.
Once Anushka Manchanda entered the stage, audiences were fully entertained by her with foot tapping numbers. Anushka Manchanda gained popularity, when she emerged as a winner of the Indian television talent show, Coke [V] Popstars in 2002, and formed the first Indian pop girl band, named Viva. After the group spilt, Anushka got to work as VJ for Channel [V] for a short time. She then stepped into playback singing and sung many songs under the direction of noted music composers Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vishal-Shekhar, Anu Malik, Salim-Sulaiman, Pritam and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The programme was professionally compered by Kuwait’s well-known emcees Lloyd John, Merwin Perreira and Nita Bhatkar. Kuwait’s very own DJ Flames entertained at regular intervals with what’s new and happening at the music scene back home.
