Mangaluru: Accused arrested for battery, compound gate theft

Mangaluru, Jul 8: Mulky police have arrested an individual accused of stealing batteries and compound gates from mobile towers within the jurisdiction of the Mulky police station.

The accused, Itti Panikkar (58), a native of Kollam district in Kerala, is currently in police custody. The police recovered goods worth Rs 8.08 lakh, including 39 batteries valued at Rs 2.56 lac, three iron gates worth Rs 52,000, and a pickup goods tempo worth Rs 5 lac.

The operation involved ACP Manoj Kumar, Mulky station inspector Vidhyadhar D Baykerikar, PSI Vinayaka Bavikatti, ASI Sanjeeva A P, and constables Kishore Kotian, Mahesh, Shashidhara, Chandrashekhar, Vishwanatha, Veeresh, Arun Kumar, Sunil, and Chithra.
