Mangalore, Oct 30: The assessment meet organized under the aegis of Mangalore South Block Congress Committee under the guidance of KPCC to discuss the upcoming interactive meet with voters at Kanthi Church Hall, Mangaladevi turned out be a ‘bitter’ occasion.

It all began when former minister and senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary came down heavily upon district congress vice-president Ivan D’Souza for possessing many posts in the party.

He said that the newcomers to the party should not aspire for any posts and instead must work hard and prove their competence. "Ivan D’Souza is holding multiple posts of KPCC secretary, district congress vice-president and also election officer. Senior Congress workers should be given respect, and for that Ivan needs to resign from the post of district congress vice-president with immediate effect," Poojary demanded. Meanwhile, sitting on the dais, Ivan silently chuckled.

Poojary also said that congress leaders and activists should not display black flags to Advani on his arrival in city as it would provide undue publicity to him and also there would be no point in congress activists being jailed for the same. Later Poojary left the venue as he had to attend a wedding.

When Ivan’s turn came to address the gathering asked for what reasons he should quit from his post, and defended his integrity in the party, saying that he has worked at all levels for the benefit of the party.

MLA U T Khader, Mohammed Masood, former president of minority community commission, leaders Mithun Rai, Arun Coelho among others were present.

People who dont know Janardhan Poojary don't have any right to ask him to quit politics. He gave his everything to build a strong Congress force in Mangalore. Dont make social networking a wrong media to convey unscrupulous untruthful things.

I think, Mr Poojary's comments are uncalled for. It is time, people like him are retire from politics. He and others should realise that Mr Ivan De'souza is very capable, honest and hard working leaders and they get the posts, according to their percived abilities. It is unfortunate that Mr Poojary stoop to such a low level.

There shouldn't be any misconception about Mr.Janardhan Poojary's congressmanship. He has been the Commander for Congress and always lead from the front for Congress in Mangalore .He has done lot of good deed for the welfare of the society.Coming to Mr.Ivan D'souza, acquiring multiple posts, it is not a sacred thing, there are lot of youngsters who are capable of handling the post and it will also lead many youth to get attracted to
Congress. Mr. Janardhan Poojary might have only had this in his mind. The people who doubt on Mr. Janardhan poojary's loyalty and fidelity to congress should think twice because Ivan Dsouza was initially a JDS leader. Mr. Poojary thoughts were youth oriented and should be taken positively.

    Dear Nithin Poojary,
Your support for JP is nice(I hope you are not relative of JP).But travel along Mangalore once, then you will understand the truth. In fact his own people does not want him to contest elections. Now he is like Dighvijay Singh in Delhi.Congress wants him to give some statements which can irritate the public ,haha!!!!!Dear Nithin now the generation is smart. They are very much in control on their decission. So unless congress rest these old tigers ,sure it will not survive!!!There are good young leaders present in congress, who needs recognition.

Congresswala, Mangalore....even Iam Congress men buy birth...I think so Ivan Dsouza is behind your name....Don't forget not only Mr.Poojary has lost election from Mangalore even Moily has lost election Twice from Mangalore & once from Chikmanglur, Sorake has lost elections twice once from Puttur & once from Udupi...Oscar also has lost election from Udupi.
Dont blame any Individual for loss of election nor Congress Party. Its BJP's Divide & Rule policy which is creating problem in Mangalore.

What @Charles D'Mello Pangla says appropriate. Mr. Janardhana Poojary is non corrupted person but his tongue or language he use is very bad. Many times I heard his dirty talks. About black flag what he says is 100% correct. Here only we find one good other bad statement in his speech.

I do agree with Poojary's comment...but the venue he chose to advise Ivan is not the right one...if he had any difference of opinion he could have told Ivan in a private meeting...Anyway I feel Poojary has lost his credibility as a congressman..since long....He can not be leader again and it may be better for him to call a day off from political activities

Congresswala, Mangalore and Venu Bhandary Puttur, you guys don't worry about JP and he is not like other corrupted politicians of Karnataka. If you people want to bother just visit PARAPANA AGRAHARA and sympathize them.(YEDDY,REDDY, KATTA.....)Election politics is not the yardstick to gauge a politician's ability.

Coming to the issues if IVAN posses more than one post, he has to relinquish other posts for other Congress workers. The statement has been made in front of Ivan and do not read much on that and media may be focused it.

Poojary thinks he is still finance minister it seems.Gracefully he must give way to younger leaders given his poor performance in the elections repeatedly. The crab mentality of congresswala have already kept them from power and we are forced to accept corrupt communal BJP due to the infighting in congress in the state.

If you guys don't want Mr.Poojary in Congress thats fine, don't vote for him,But there are lakhs of Mr.Poojary's fans like me want him to continue in politics. Unlike other politicians Mr.Poojary never joined politics to make money.
I think so Congresswala, Mangalore's real name is Ivan Dsouza.
To conclude I would recall Mr.Vajapayee Called Mr.Poojary has "IMANDAAR POOJARY".

If these youngsters act like"follow the leader",the day will not be far that Congress will be no more in Mangalore.Already it is evident that Janardhana Poojary never won the elections in the last 15 years. So it would be better for poojary to find a place for himself. If he contest from Amethi, chances look bright !!!!!!!!

It is high time Congress party get rid of people like Poojary who has been along with two more so called “stall warts” from coastal Karnataka are being solely responsible for its present state. It is because Poojary and co youngsters are scared and shamed to identify themselves with Congress. Congress party’s youth leaders must choose between their and congress party’s future and existence or Poojary’s jokes. Let Poojary remember that he is being defeated by Nalin Kumar which was a shock to Nalin Kumar himself. Poojary like deadwoods are the real problem to Congress!
