Incessant rains cause destruction and damage in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, Jul 9: Incessant rains wreaked havoc in Dakshina Kannada district on Monday. The district experienced heavy rainfall, with Ujire recording 142 mm of rain. As a precautionary measure, schools and colleges in the district were also closed on July 9.

In Beltangady taluk, the compound wall of a school collapsed at Kalleri, and the compound wall of a temple collapsed at Navoor. In Mangaluru city, a house was damaged in Ballalbagh, and the Baikampady industrial area was flooded.

A large tree fell on a car in Someshwar town municipality limits, but fortunately, no one was inside the car.
