Udupi, Jul 10: MLC Manjunath Bhandary submitted an appeal to the deputy commssioner (DC), urging to provide relief to damage caused by the recent heavy rains in Udupi.

Recent incessant rains in Udupi district have led to tragic consequences, including loss of life and significant damage to residential and commercial properties, agricultural lands and plantations. The aftermath of the rainfall has left many residents displaced and facing considerable hardships.

In the appeal, Manjunath Bhandary has called for urgent evaluation by the officials to assess the damage inflicted by recent rains in Udupi district. He emphasized the need for accurate estimation and documentation of losses incurred, urging immediate disbursement of the maximum possible compensation from the DC.

Manjunath Bhandary has requested the authorities to submit a report on the damage caused by rain in Udupi district to the government and recommend the state government to provide more compensation and respond accordingly in providing necessary compensation to the victims of the natural calamity.
