Bantwal: Thieves steal gold worth Rs 4.14 lac from house in broad daylight

Bantwal, Jul 15: Thieves entered a house in Kinnimajalu of Ira village during the day and stole gold ornaments weighing 69 grams, worth Rs 4.14 lac, from a cupboard.

Chandrashekhar and Vanita, residents of Kinnimajalu, go to work every day after locking their house. On July 13, Vanita’s sister Sujata called to inform them that the lock on their house was broken.

When Vanita and Chandrashekhar rushed back home to check, they found that thieves had ransacked the house, thrown clothes on the floor, and stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 4.14 lac.

A complaint has been filed with the Bantwal rural police station. Inspector Shivakumar and his team visited the spot and are investigating.
