No Regrets About Ousting Yeddyuprappa: Advani

Panaji, Nov 2 (IANS): Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Wednesday said he did not regret that the party had taken action against former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, who was arrested in connection with a graft case.

"The problem in Karnataka is because the party is dealing with corruption firmly," Advani told reporters in Panaji during his anti-corruption Jan Chetna Yatra, which entered its 22nd day Wednesday.

"I do not regret anything. Whether it is the Congress or the BJP, corruption has to be handled effectively," Advani said when asked about differences in the party over the issue of Yeddyurappa, the BJP's first chief minister in southern India, who had to resign after being accused by the Karnataka Lokayukta of corruption and nepotism.

"The moment the Lokayukta gave the report, we did not take more than a couple of hours to decide," said Advani, referring to the party's decision to drop Yeddyurappa.

Commenting on the issue of illegal mining in Goa, Advani said the party would not treat the issue with "kid gloves".

"It is (illegal mining) a serious matter...because of illegal mining those who are doing legal mining are also affected adversely," the senior BJP leader said, adding that his party colleagues were "very active" in combating the scourge of illegal mining.

    Mr Advaniji....you are only there to separate between the religion.how can you lie at this stage..? karnataka voted BJP just to have some change, but only got return is more coruption..now you are in goa to bribe the goan people..we are born in india and we are citizen of india...if you can do some good work for the poor people it would be nice..but you are wasting public money on your nonsence yatra...please go home and do some charity work.

    Is party dealing with corruption OR doing the corruption???

    Advni.. How to understand you. You do not have regret on your coment on Jinnah at Pak. Now in Bangalore you did not open your mouth on your jailed friends and it is convinient to speak at Goa may be after a fenny. This is the reason May be we need to have political retirement at your age or much early.

    Lots of Waiting lsit condidate ever waiting to be PM in your party. Sinha, Adgari, Sush, Prasad, Jaitly and modi are all in a cometing mood. Yeddi can also be another as we had Mr. Due Gowda. Waiting list for your party is permanent till you change ideology to suit the constitution and repect all the citizens.

    It is the same Advani who praised and talked high about Jinnah when he visited Pak. He went against his own conscience and made this statement to out of fear to please Pakis. Now he has no guts to talk about Yeddy or Reddy in karnataka and he sliped quietly into Goa and now criticising Yeddy. BJP a party with difference and leader too are indifferent to party lines..

    BUT AGAINST JANARDHAN REDDY, SOMSHAKER REDDY, SHIRAMULU,SOMANNA...THEIR NAMES TOO ARE REFLACTED IN THE LOKAYUKT REPORT... WHY NO ACTION AGAINST THEM...WHY NO ACTION AGAINST KATTA?
