Udupi: Pre-university college student from Perdur hangs herself

Udupi, Jul 23: In a tragic incident, a second-year PUC student at Perdur Government Pre-University College, took her own life. The incident occurred on July 22 between 9:30 AM and 2:20 PM.

The deceased girl is Nayana (17), a resident of Perdur village.

Nayana, for reasons unknown, was mentally distressed and took the extreme step of ending her life. She tied a churidar to the ceiling fan and hanged herself in the room upstairs at her house.

The incident was reported by her mother Shoba and Hiriyadka police station has registered a case.

    Very sad.Is it a new disease now almost every minute a young person hangs or suicide ?is it stress or depression that they dont get any first in exams or no seat in college without lot of money?They should always consult someone before taking their own life.Parents have taken so much trouble to bring them up ,want them a good future is it too much ?May God give peace to their soul .Heartfelt sympathy to her family.

    R.I.P very sad to see young lives being lost. I think counselling can help these kids and they should be made aware of where to find the help they need, instead of taking their own lives.

    Is there any toll free number for affected relatives to console....there was a advance trigger that she was mentally suffering but not attended ?
