Mangaluru: St Agnes College (Autonomous) organises competition on sustainable packaging

Mangaluru, Jul 24: The PG department of chemistry, St Agnes College (Autonomous), organized an exciting competition focused on sustainability in packaging on July 22. The event aimed to foster innovation and creativity among participants in developing eco-friendly packaging solutions for the cosmetic industry.

The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students from various departments both post graduate and undergraduate.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Nandana KK, II MSc chemistry student. This was followed by an overview of the competition rules and objectives by Irin Sunny, student coordinator.

Participants submitted their proposals outlining their innovative sustainable packaging solutions.

Dr Geetha Pinto and Dr Amrutha K judged the competition. The judges evaluated the entries based on innovation and creativity, feasibility, environmental impact.

The competition concluded with an award ceremony where the top two teams were recognized and awarded prizes for their outstanding contributions to sustainable packaging. The winners were:

First place: Ayesha Rania, Narmada, Jessica.
Second place: Harshitha, Nishitha.

The sustainability packaging competition successfully highlighted the critical need for eco-friendly packaging solutions in the cosmetic industry. It provided a platform for participants to showcase their talents and contribute to a greener future. The event was a significant step towards encouraging sustainable practices and fostering innovation in packaging.
