Bengaluru, Jul 24: Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna met with legislative assembly Speaker U T Khader to discuss the demands of the Koraga community and the taxi association in Udupi.

The Koraga community organizations have been protesting, demanding their rightful claims such as land rights, suitable employment for educated unemployed youth, and effective implementation of various schemes for Scheduled Castes. In light of these demands, MLA Yashpal Suvarna urged Speaker Khader to seriously consider the Koraga community's demands and prompt the state government to respond immediately.

Additionally, the MLA requested the state government to address various issues faced by the taxi association, including extending the deadline for the mandatory installation of panic buttons and GPS in tourist vehicles. He urged the government to provide appropriate solutions to these issues.

MLA Yashpal Suvarna also appealed to the Speaker to allow a discussion on these demands during the Zero Hour in the Assembly to draw the government's attention to the concerns of the Koraga community and the taxi association.
