Mangaluru: Income Tax Day celebrated with cultural events, blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Jul 24: The Income Tax Sports and Recreation Club, Mangaluru, observed Income Tax Day at the C R Building in Attavar on Wednesday, July 24.

Shishir Srivastava, principal commissioner of Income Tax, Panaji, Goa, inaugurated the event along with Shankar Ganeshan, additional commissioner of income tax, Mangaluru.

Speaking on the occasion, Shishir Srivastava said, "I-T officials are the breadwinners of the government, benefiting the public as well. Have pride in your work and work sincerely."

The formal function was followed by cultural events with staff performing dances portraying the rich culture of Tulunadu. Additionally, a few staff members sang Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi songs.

The Income Tax staff performed a drama titled "Parivarthane," directed by renowned Tulu theatrical personality Tamma Lakshmana.

As a precursor to the event, on July 23, the Income Tax Department, Attavar, had organized a blood donation camp in association with the Red Cross Society, Mangaluru.
