Bangalore: BJP Decides to Field Sriramulu for Bypoll, CM Holds Discussions

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Nov 4: It is learnt that BJP has decided to field former minister, B Sriramulu, as party candidate for the bypoll being held on November 30 for Bellary rural assembly constituency. The seat was vacated by Sriramulu, in protest against not giving ministerial berths to him and Reddy brothers, and also because his name was linked with the mining scam.

This decision was taken at a meeting held in the party’s office on Thursday under the presidentship of K S Eshwarappa. The party’s decision has been conveyed to Sriramulu, who has sought two days’ time to consider the issue. A religious head also has put pressure on Sriramulu to contest the election as a BJP candidate. It is learnt that Yeddyurappa has also sent the signal that Sriramulu should be fielded as party candidate.

Excise minister, Renukacharya, exuded confidence of convincing Sriramulu to contest the bypoll on BJP ticket.

There are rumours that Sriramulu had opted to field a family member in his place, but the BJP is pressurizing him to accept the party’s proposal. On Thursday, state Chief Minister (CM), D V Sadananda Gowda, held talks with Sriramulu for some time during a function held at Ujjaini near Bellary on account of the enthronement of the new spiritual head of Ujjaini Peetha there. Sriramulu’s sister and MP, J Shanta, and Koodligi MLA, Nagendra, also exchanged pleasantries with the CM on this occasion.

When approached by the media, Sriramulu did not reveal the details of the discussions. He said he will reveal his next move in a couple of days.

To be a patriotic these days it is very simple, just vote for BJP. Evenif it means re-electing same tainted person twice within 5years. Do not bother about the tax payers money spent on every election or how much sriramulu is involved in illegal mining.

Neeraj Fernandes, Mangalore - Well said, if we call ourself "true Indian" "Desh-Premi" or "Patriot" then we all should have condemned the waste of Public money by the BJP government for all these by-elections. From the begining BJP is responsible for most of these elections which cost us "The Tax Payers" a lot of money. "Psudos" and "Non-Psudos" would speak against this waste irrespective of Party. We should stand against the corruption too, irrespective of the Party.
    Jai Ho!!!

The By-polls of Bellary shows that in our country still prevails ignorance. This by election was caused by the resignation of Sriramulu and what a shame, again he wants to contest for the same party that he represented before? According to me the election commission should bar Sriramulu from contesting in this election from the same constituency and party because he has made a mockery of himself and democracy and caused much loss to the state.

If Sriramulu to contest again in the bypoll, for what sake he resigned as MLA?

One election will cost crores of rupees to govt, sleepless nights to police, election duty to concerned officers... etc..etc.

Now the election committee has to intervene and stop him again contesting in bypolls. Is this gaddadhari playing hide and seek?

BY POLL - ELECTION, Whenever I come accross these election's results(from last MLAs election)- the result of the elected candidate is ONLY AROUND 25% OF THE ELECTORATE, and these elected candidates bombarding as though they have secured 100% of the electorate.

This is mainly due to the triangular contests.

Why WE PEOPLE cannot get united and fix(with conditions to work for the betterment of the people, state and the nation) ONE GOOD CANDIDATE (irresepective of the party/independent) & elect with above 80% of the electorate and thus WE PEOPLE can make the candidate to work in the the righteous & sincere way.

Always, we see in Karnataka, whichever is the ruling party -they say "By 6 crore people's blessing.... " but they are elected only by/around 1.5 crore people.

THIS IS THE FATE OF OUR DEMOCRACY/ELECTION

    Hope for the Best

It is a political game. BJP want two major achievements through Mr. Sriramulu.  First thing is BJP government want show that the Lokayuktha report is wrong.  Second thing is Mr. Sriramulu is a clean person so he won again and BJP will give him minister’s post. This is the truth, our politicians who always cheat every citizen.

BJP high command of Karnataka are cowards. Why did he resign in the first instance? It is unprecedented in any political Party. On the other hand how our voters vote for him? If by accident wins the election then I am for sure corruptions could not be weeded out even 10 % if Anna able get his dream JANLOKPAL BILL.It is really disgusting and certainly mockery of democracy.

What a joke!!Who is bearing the expenses of this election? BJP govt or we the tax payers? Mr Yeddy, Shetty, Reddy, Katta did not tender their resignation for MLA candidature till today, eventhough they are in Jail under Judicial Custody. Why Sriramulu resigned at once?

I am also the supporter of BJP... But after looking at ur comments sometimes i dont feel ur actually liking BJP... Tell me onething if Sriramulu wants to reelect then why the hell he should have resigned to his MLA post from the constituency? Why he is wasting common person's money? Because of his resignation Bypoll is announced and npow he himself want to get relected from there? This is really called as Hieght of madness...

We are spending so much tax and it goes to govt and govt inturn spending such a huge tax money for Reelections. If BJP is going to opt someone else other than sriramulu then its fine. But Sriramulu himself want to get relected... Hi is really gone mad like Devegouda family...

This seems to be the biggest joke. Sriramulu resigned as he was not given a ministerial berth in the new cabinet. His resignation was accepted and hence a by-poll. Now the same BJP wants to field the same Sriramulu as thier party's candidate, what does this mean???

If he wins he may insist to be made a minister. His name appears in the report which was the reason he was ped. So if it holds good he will not be made the minister and again he will resign and again a by-poll and again Sri'mlu will contest, this is like a dog running around in cirles to grab it's own tail!!! Incredible BJP!! Incredible India!!!
