Hebri: Tree falls on moving bus - Major mishap averted

Daijiworld Media Network - Hebri

Hebri, Jul 25: A major accident was averted when a tree fell on a moving bus in the Belanje area of Kuchoor village panchayat in Hebri taluk, due to heavy wind and rain. The front glass of the bus was completely shattered, causing minor injuries to the driver. A power pole was also damaged.

The bus was traveling from Mandarthi to Hebri when a strong gust of wind caused a tree to fall onto it. The front glass, side mirrors, and several other parts of the bus were damaged.

A major disaster was averted: If the tree had fallen directly on the bus, there could have been loss of life. The tree fell on the power lines, causing them to hit and dangle over the bus. Fortunately, only a few passengers were on board, preventing a major catastrophe. There was significant danger to the driver's left side seat, which was unoccupied, thus avoiding a larger accident. If the tree had fallen in the other direction, it would have completely damaged a house.
