MP Brijesh Chowta urges union min to promote DK's historic, scenic sites

Mangaluru, Jul 25: Captain Brijesh Chowta, MP from Dakshina Kannada, appealed to union minister of Tourism and Culture, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, to boost tourism in Mangaluru, highlighting the region's unique attractions and historical significance.

Chowta requested the introduction of adventure tourism at Sasihitlu Beach and sought Blue Flag certification for the beach, which will host India's first international paddling competition. He also urged the establishment of more 'Youth Tourism Clubs' in Dakshina Kannada.

The MP emphasized that Dakshina Kannada, with its Western Ghats, stunning coastline, renowned religious centers, year-round festivals, and historically significant sites, has the potential to become a major tourist destination. He asked for the minister's support to help realize this potential.
