Japanese Parliament Speaker is Dead


 Moscow, Nov 5 (IANS/RIA Novosti): Takeo Nishioka, president of the Japanese parliament's upper house, died of pneumonia early Saturday at the age of 75, the Kyodo news agency reported.

A member of the ruling Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), Nishioka has been the House of Councilors' president since 2010.

He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1963.

He has been re-elected ten times since then.
