Mangalore, Nov 5: VHP leaders on Saturday November 5 flayed the alleged connection between the recent act of vandalism at St Alphonsa Catholic Church in Kankanady and Hindu unions.

Addressing a press meet held on Saturday November 5, Jagadeesh Shenava, vice-president, Vishwa Hindu Parishat said that a few media have depicted the Church incident as ‘church attack’ and wrong impressions were being created among people about Hindu unions like the Bajrang Dal and the VHP.

"A few reports published by the press claim that there was some unethical activity going on at the Church. Police have arrested a person already with regard to this case. Even police are hiding the truth," he said.

"Hence, VHP urges COD investigations into the incident so that the truth is revealed to the public. In case reports in the newspapers are true, the government should take proper action against such activity and the heads of the institution should be taken to task," he added.

He reiterated that there was no connection between Hindu unions and the church incident. "The arrested man is a convert from Hinduism to Christianity, it is reported. But now police are arresting innocent people," he said and urged the police to stop taking Hindus into custody without evidence.

Manohar Tulajaram, president, VHP, Gopal Kutthar, chief secretary, VHP, were present.

    Dear Dinesh Poojary,Kundapura/Bengaluru
if you think minorities are causing nuisance there are legal procedures to deal with them but not raping their women, murdering their men, damaging their places of worship, desecrating their holy places etc that you are justifying and feel very proud of.

WHEN THERE IS A BJP CORRUPT GOVERNMENT RUNNING AND A CORRUPT HOME MINISTER ASHOK WAITING TO GO TO JAIL ANY TIME WHAT INVESTIGATION CONGRESS WILL DO? IN KARNATAKA EVEN YEDDY IS IN THE JAIL THE GOVERNMENT IS RUN BY YEDDY FROM THE JAIL AND GOWDA IS JUST A CM FOR NAME SAKE.

We Hindus never attack any worship places like you & loot them. History is the evidence for the looting of temples. Some attacked persons who talks against hindustva not the worship god or place. We hindus have many faces of GOD but noone never fought by saying that this place belongs to Ganesha where krishna statue cannot be kept. Wherein you have many groups some worship grave, some oppose & some says only son is the god not mother.

    Dear Sam, Mangalore,

Yeddy in jail because of de-notifications. Don't relate everything to church attack.

Kalmadi in jail for CWG scam. Raja in jail for 2G scam. If these people were with state BJP, you would have said the same thing.

By the way, do not think you people are angels and your misdeeds are unknown to public. You might not be dealing with bombs, weapons, swords etc. But your conversion activities are well known and causing nuisance in the society.

Now most of the media publish the recent story. I also doubt that if sibu want to attack the church why he couldnt escaped, why he has attacked infornt of the church authority. Please try to understand my friends in this incident, one side we are encouraging the illegal things done by church people & other side blaming hindu people for hiding the secret. But this wont help our community. We should tell the truth to the world. otherwise no one belive us. Please put your comment based on truth. If you want to blame somebody then you dont use this.

While reading all the comments from readers, one can understand that there are lots of miss trusts within us. Hindus don’t believe Christian or Muslim and vice versa. This is not good for our society and for our future. If something wrong happened in their sacred places, people start thinking or forced to think that it is done by other religion and want to get revenge. They don’t think it was done by an ill minded people. Just think who is suffering at the end, it is WE. I think we should ban all religious groups to maintain peace in our region.
Regarding Mr. Sahil Amdavad's comment, I do studied in a school, which is run by Church. For your information we called our teachers “Sir / Madam.” Mr. Sahil in your hand all fingers are not equal, same way the people. So please don’t comment on the schools, which is run by churches. Till today i remember my primary schooling. You can not compare the quality of education which church provides to others. If you have time just visit Christ King School in Karkala
Be Good to everyone... and keep smilling

Is the truth that bitter Salma, that you instigate others also to suppress it by saying 'don't blow your trumphet that you studied in christian school'? The fact is my dear friend, truth cannot be suppressed not even under the burqha because it will surely resurface. By the way, are you just jealous that the truth reveals itself to millions of people inspite of people like you, Salim Sheikh and Sahil trying your best to suppress it? No matter how much you try, you will not succeed. All the best.

Seems you missed the whole point. As much as I am against hindu organizations using violence to acheive their means, they have issue against christian missionaries and not with regular christians.

It is not just India, look at Buddhist country like Sri Lanka or moderate muslim country like Malaysia, christian missionaries are desperate to spread their wings through mass conversion and people in all these countries are furious about it.

Regarding your education in convent school, just one question for you...how did you use to address your teachers, Sir/Madam like we do in secular schools or Father/Sister like christians do?

He is having hatred towards Christians and Muslims in his mind and body full of evilsprite. He is posion of the society.

This is my kind opinion. I studied in christian school and colleage. I strongly appriciate the dedication from christian community which is providing good education, and good charactor.According to me I know normally christians are very cool, calm and peace loving. Difinatly I point out Ramasena played a rule in this attack through this stupid man.

Don't comment targeting Hindu. You are unnecessarily blaming BJP for this.

You have congress govt at the center and you have your own Oscar Fernandis, who is believed to be very close to Sonia Madam. Why can't you people get the investigation done with the help of him and give the severe punishment to the culprit?

Though the ruling govt is BJP in the state, Jarardhana Reddy was arrested by CBI police for his crime. You also force the union govt to do CBI Inquiry for this attack.

Don't write mindless comments targeting other communities.

It seems that there is gross over reaction to these recent attacks on Christian institutions. Those concerned are also projecting matters without evidence or investigation. Many people across the main groups are of the view that at best these are personal vendettas that are manifested in isolation. No one is perfect and above board. Police must investigate. All leaders need to react responsibly and from facts all speculation must be avoided for harmony.

Dear Mr. KR Prabhu Mangalore\Bangalore, I abide by your request and tender an "UNCONDITIONAL APOLOGY FOR ALL HINDU OUTFITS" eventhough I have not connected any organisation for this incident. Hope now you feel satisfied atleast for getting one apology.

Here I ask you a question, do you have courage\guts to condemn Mr. Shenava's comment for making statment in press meeting on "Unethical activity & conversion" without any proof.

He is showing a new paper "JAYA KIRANA", all people of DK & Udupi dist. If same daily prints derogatory comment on the organisation Mr. Shenava represents, he will make sure office of the daily is ransacked.

This is the third incident in last few weeks. Somebody is trying hard to break communal riot in twin district. But I applaud patience of all people belog to the religion, for ignoring these incidents and keeping communal hormony and peace.

Now tell me what you would have done if same happened to one of smallest religious place of your faith.

Brother it hurts everyone when damage & humilation is done to place their worship. Also note it is not only people practicing faith other than Hinduism showing their anger aginst these organisation\outfits, In fact majority of people practicing Hinduism also do not appove or acknowledge the activities or behaiour of member following these kind of Hindu outfits who preach one thing and practice someting else.

GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS KARNATAKA.

The person who has attacked the church is, wearing deity’s photo on his neck itself enough to substantiate what Jagadeesh Shenava saying is absolutely wrong. To divert the real truth, now they will definitely spread wrong rumors. We would have appreciate if Mr. Jagadeesh would have condemned the act of vandalism of the church as it is the duty of every Indian to respect their fellow citizens place of worship.

CK Dayananda, Mangalore, had some information about SHIBU, a name which sounds Kerala based Christian seemed correct and I had also same impression. Now police need to bring the truth and the only truth and what went wrong in the premise of Church. However, our Christian brother's outbursts are completely understandable and valid.

THIS IS THE WORK OF RSS, BAJRANGDAL AND RAM SENE. SUCH THINGS ARE HAPPENING IN KARNATAKA SINCE BJP GOVERNMENT HAS COME. IN CONGRESS 60 YEARS OF RULE NOT A SINGLE INCIDENT OF SUCH A THING HAS OCCOURED. SO THIS IS THE WORK OF THE HINDU ORGANISATIONS. NO ONE HAS CONVERTED ANYONE AND NO ONE KNOWS THIS CHARATER WHO ATTACKED THE CHURCH. SO HINDU ORGANISTIONS MAKING STORIES ABOUT CONVERSATION IS WRONG. THIS IS THE WORK OF HINDU ORGANISATION. IN KARNATAKA WHERE THERE IS LAW AND ORDER ? WHO IS THERE TO TAKE CARE OF LAW AND ORDER AS A SWORD IS ALREADY HANGING ON THE HOME MINISTER ASHOK'S HEAD AND HE MAY BE BEHIND BARS ANY DAY AS LOK AUKTA POLICE HAVE FILED AN FIR AGAINST ASHOK FOR DENOTIFICATION OF LAND. EX-CM YEDDY IS INSIDE THE JAIL SINCE NEARLY MORE THAN 15 DAYS. JANARDHAN REDDY AND SRINIVAS REDDY ARE IN JAIL SINCE MORE THAN 2 MONTHS. SO WHEN WE HAVE A CORRUPT BJP GOVERNMENT WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ? SO CHURCH ATTACKS IS HINDU ORGANISATION WORK THERE IS NO SECOND THINKING ABOUT THIS.
