Bantwal: Senior Citizens, Grandparents Day celebrated at Our Lady of Vailankanni Church

Bantwal, Jul 29: Senior Citizens and Grandparents' Day was celebrated at Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Farla, by Women's Association and Self Help groups of CODP Farla.

Holy Mass was offered for the intention of senior citizens by Fr Wilfred Rodrigues OCD. Stage programme was conducted and parish priest Fr Mark D'Souza admired the sacrifice and love of senior citizens, they give to their younger ones in his presidential speech.

Chief guest Fr Wilfred Rodrigues, CODP co-ordinator, Rita D'Souza PPC secretary, Hilda Pereira All Commission's co-ordinator, Sunitha Rodrigues women's association president, Irine D'Souza, secretary Joyce D'Souza, and senior parishioner BJ Pereira were present on the dais.

As a memory all the senior citizens were honoured with a gift. A cultural programme was conducted by the women. The programme concluded with meal. Several eatables of the rainy season were presented in the hall. Sunitha and Jyothi conducted the programme. Joyce D'Souza welcomed the gathering and Irine D'Souza gave the vote of thanks.
