Mandya, July 29: Happy at the Krishnarajasagar dam getting filled and overflowing, thanks to bountiful rains in the entire Cauvery catchment areas, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and other ministers offered bagina to Cauvery goddess at KRS in Mandya district on Monday.
“We are very glad that KRS and other dams in the Cauvery basin areas are full, which marks bountiful monsoon and good tidings for agricultural production,” said Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar.
District in charge minister N Cheluvarayaswamy, M C Mahadevappa, K Venkatesh and former minister and MLA Tanvir Sait as well as other legislators and Water Resources Department Additional Chief Secretary Guarav Gupta, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Managing Director M D Mahesh and other senior officials were present.
