Mangaluru, Jul 29: B K Imthiyaz, president of the Street Vendors Association, has alleged that officials of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) have carried out dictatorial actions under the orders of mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur.
Imthiyaz claims that MCC officials conducted an operation against street vendors, destroying their property in an inhumane manner. He asserted that these actions were carried out based on orders from mayor Shetty Kannur, rather than following legal procedures or adhering to rules and regulations.
The Street Vendors Association strongly opposed what it describe as illegal evictions, which it believes constitute a clear violation of the 2014 Street Vendors Act.
