Mangalore, Nov 9: A civil contractor was found murdered at his home in Meenakariya, Panambur on the night of Tuesday November 8.

The victim has been identified as Jayakumar (41) from Kerala. He was a member of one of the sports club in Panamboor.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Valentine D'Souza, circle inspector, Panambur police station, said that the murder must have taken place at around midnight. A person broke into the house at night and stabbed Jayakumar with a knife, he said.

Some personal enmity might have been the reason behind the motive, he added.

Police have arrested the accused, Chandra, for the crime. A year or so ago, he was accused of robbing the DC's wife. He is also said to be a drug addict.

A case has been registered by the Panambur police.

How come the police are so extra efficient? They have caught the accused within no time. I feel some innocent person is caught as usual just to show that the Police are doing a great job? It is OK to let a guilty person free but it is a great CRIME to victimise a innocent person.
