Top Lokayukta Cop Shifted to Sabotage Probe on Yeddyurappa: Hegde

Bangalore, Nov 11 (PTI): Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde on Friday hit out at the State government for transferring Lokayukta official Jeevan Kumar V Gaonkar, alleging that it was an attempt to “sabotage” the probe against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his family.

Government transferred Gaonkar on Thursday, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police, Karnataka Lokayukta, and brought Satyanarayana Rao H N, Additional DGP, Crimes & Technical Services, Bangalore, in his place.

Taking exception to the move, Hegde told PTI that the Lokayukta police was conducting investigation against “quite big people, powerful people” and said the conduct of Gaonkar “looked positive” going by newspaper reports and “whatever he submitted to the Special Lokayukta Court”.

“That has created a lot of anger in the political administration,” the former Supreme Court judge, who is also a key Team Anna member, said.

Without naming Yeddyurappa, who he indicted in his illegal mining report that led to the BJP strongman’s exit as Chief Minister, Hegde said: “Some people ultimately got bail and they came out but enquiry against them, their family and former colleagues is continuing”.

He pointed to “sudden change (the transfer) without there being a Lokayukta, without his opinion”, and also referred to newspaper reports that the Chief Secretary had objected to Rao’s name at some point of time earlier.

“All this leads to one and only conclusion: this (the transfer) was done for collateral purpose...to sabotage the investigation”, Hegde said. “What’s the mortal hurry to change this person?”.

“An attempt is being made definitely... objective is to defeat the investigation that’s being carried out”, he said.

Dear Hegdeji, all Pseudo those are opposing BJP and supporting most corrupted Congress and other Political Parties praising your report without knowing the fact. First of all who have been asked to report the illegal mining business since from 2002 to 2010 instead you reported the matter since from 2006 only. Most of the contents of your report have been copied from previous Committee Report headed by retired Supreme Court Judge. You have identified 60 personnel involved in illegal mining businessmen but nothing has been done till date against them except Greedy Yeddy yet you are not raising your voice for not taking action against others. It seems some internal BJP Office Bearers sponsoring you to speak against Yeddy only.

The Supreme Court should intervene in this case and nail the Karnataka CM and the Government. Even Team Anna should make a big hue and cry. Karnataka has become like a 'Goonda Raj' where the corrupt persons win and the people suffer. God only has to save our State! Full marks to Justice Hegde for your sincere work.

Mr. Yeddy is purely innocent in everything, like pure veg food. He is innocent in corruption and innocent in his wife's death in 5 feet of water a few years ago, and has a innocent sisterly relationship with shobhakka...

Now that everybody has come to know that the Lokayukta is shifted to sabotage probe, what exactly is the solution ? Who will make the law prevail and punish the guilty ? Who can stop such transfers ? These questions need answers.

I agree with Justice Hegde's opinion. On the other hand Justice Hegde not commented about Ex P.M. Deve Gowda's telephonic call (threat)to Lokayukta Police Officer regarding his son Balakrishna Gowdas corruption cases....? why this partiality..?

Why is this Yeddurappa guy so shameless? I wonder why he is allowed to enter temples and take photographs with Swamis and Sadhus in spite of entire Karnataka knowing he is a CHOR.

Mr. Hegde can you tell us, why did you target only BJP leaders?. Why did you submit the reports from 2007 when government asked you to submit the reports from 2003?. Being retired judge, you are not fair and balanced, how can you judge others.

Is Anna Hazare sleeping as far as Karnataka Lokayukta is cocerned? He has not uttered a single word So far about corruption in Karnataka. Is his 'Mounvirata' still continues for Karnataka only? His team wanted to interfere in Bhihar Lokayukta and Mr. Nitish Kumar has given them the right kick.

Yeddy already decided to come back as CM once again by hook or crook. Therefore,he will not hesitate to do anything to weaken the cases filed against him. There are public meetings, statewide tour etc etc are arranged by Yeddy and his entourage. It is matter of time that DVS,CM,will relinquish his chair for him.Renukacharya, cabinet minister of DVS govt already @ batting on behalf of Yeddy.Bellary by election both way helps to Yeddy...if defeated, he can cite the reason to grab president of BJP of Karnataka on one hand, if BJP wins, however, either he will force Isharappa to put in the paper or ask DVS to hands up!!!Becoming CM once gain possible because we have live example of M/S JAYALAITHA,CM of T.Nadu.Coming week or so political uncertainty will prevail in Karnataka for sure.Top police officer of Lokayukta's transfer is the first step toward his goal.

This news has been @ rounds since two days that JVK Gaonkar from the Lokayukta transfered @ the behest of KAANADA KAI(YEDDY)!!

Under the circumstances,I guess, Yeddy's conditional bail may in scanner by HC or this news may fodder to media and his backbiters.Sirajiddin Basha's (Petitioner against Yeddy) assumption against Yeddy while arguing not to let out from jail might vindicated.
