Mangaluru, Aug 20: The enrolment process for the Manipal Arogya Card 2024 has officially commenced.

During a press conference at the Press Club in Mangaluru, Dr B Unnikrishnan, dean of Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru, highlighted the significance of the Manipal Arogya Card scheme. He stated, "The Manipal Arogya Card was initiated with the aim of making quality healthcare affordable for the public. It offers comprehensive benefits across a range of healthcare services. Launched in 2000 as part of our social responsibility, the objective has always been to ensure that quality healthcare is accessible to everyone at affordable rates."

Dr Chakrapani M, medical superintendent of KMC Hospital Attavar, elaborated on the benefits, saying, "The Manipal Arogya Card includes both one-year and two-year schemes. Cardholders can avail themselves of medical services at KMC Hospital Attavar, KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle (Jyothi Circle), Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital Kateel, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr TMA Pai Hospital Udupi, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala, Manipal Hospital Goa, and the two dental colleges - Manipal College of Dental Sciences in Manipal and Mangaluru. By paying a nominal fee, anyone can become a member and benefit from the services."

Dr Shivananda Prabhu, chief administrative officer (CAO) of Durga Sanjeevani Manipal Hospital, Kateel, explained the discounts available with the Manipal Arogya Card. "Cardholders can receive up to a 50% discount on consultations, a 20% discount on laboratory investigations, a 20% discount on radiology investigations such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and X-rays, a 10% discount on outpatient medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy, and up to a 25% concession on inpatient bills (excluding consumables and packages) across various ward categories. There is no upper age limit for enrolment, making this scheme particularly beneficial for senior citizens."

Saghir Siddiqui, regional chief operating officer of KMC Hospital, discussed the membership fees. "Individual membership for one person is Rs 350, family membership, which includes the cardholder, spouse, and any number of unmarried children under 25 years of age, is Rs 700. The Family Plus membership, which covers the individual, spouse, unmarried children under 25, and up to four parents, including in-laws, is Rs 900. The two-year scheme costs Rs 600 for individuals, Rs 950 for families, and Rs 1,100 for the Family Plus membership."
