Youth Workers Want Bigger Role for Rahul: Digvijay

Phulpur (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 14 (IANS): Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh Monday said members of the party's youth wing wanted Rahul Gandhi to play a bigger role in the organisation.

"Workers of not only this region but throughout the country are very keen for him (Gandhi) to step in. Already he is looking after Youth Congress and party's student wing NSUI (National Student's Union Of India).

"They want him to play a prominent role in the Congress," Singh told reporters here.

Singh, however, said it is up to the party and the Gandhi scion to decide on the matter.

Gandhi Monday rolled out party's campaign from the constituency once represented by his great grandfather and the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
