Karkala, Aug 22: ABVP members staged a flash protest near the a private college after a college student was killed due to negligent driving involving a private bus.
Janit Shetty (19), a second-year BSc student of Nitte, died on Wednesday morning while he was traveling from home to the educational institution by a bus, ABVP workers took to the streets and protested with various demands.
Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) unit staged a protest on the state highway in front of the private college to condemn the negligent attitude of private buses and Regional Transport Authorities (RTO).
The students demanded for additional government buses to be run for the convenience of students in the morning and evening on class days and demanded for the safety of students to be taken care of.
