The event comprised melodious Konkani/Tulu songs, foot-tapping dances and the hilarious Konkani drama ‘Sangon Mugdana’.

The proceeds, Rs 14,47,652 (Indian Rupees fourteen lac forty seven thousand six hundred fifty two) in all, was contributed towards ‘White Doves’, a shelter for the homeless destitute in Mangalore, India.

The amount in the form of a cheque was handed over to Corine Rasquinha of White Doves recently by UMK team. Fr Vincent Victor Menezes (parish priest, St Rita church, Cassia), Ronson Saldanha, Lloyd Pinto, Victor Saldanha, Roque Lewis, Philomena Saldanha, Vrinda Lewis and Renwick Lewis visited both the White Doves Homes in Mangalore.

Mr.P.A.Rasquina,you have said it 100% correct. Today two words are minting money. They are God and Poor. Money can be made using these two words. Some NGO employees are buying properties here and there. At the same time relatives are becoming MBBS,MBA and so on at the cost of hard working kind donor. That seven letter word (charity) is really a miracle word for NGO. The three letter word(God)is a money bank for Religious organizations.

DONATING MONEY FOR A GOOD CAUSE IS A GOOD DEED.
BUT KEEPING A TAB ON HOW YOUR MONEY IS UTILISED IS ALSO AN EQUALLY IMPORTANT RESPONSIBILITY AND GOOD DEED.
IF NOT IT IS A SIN COMMITTED BY THE DONOR IF MISUSED BUY THE DONEE.
SO THE DONORS MUST REQUEST FOR AN AUDITED ACCOUNTS OF NON GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS (NG0'S)CONDUCTED BY AN INDEPENDENT AUDITOR WHICH MANDATORILY SUBMITEED TO THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION ON ANNUAL BASIS AS NINETY NINE PERCENT OF INDIAN NGO'S INCLUDING RELIGIOUS CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS ARE MONEY MAKING BUSINESS VENTURES.

Dear Agnel and your entire family at UMK, on behalf of the beneficiaries, the inmates of White Doves Homes I would like to thank each and everyone who toiled hard to make this program happen only to bring succor for the needy. When we were struggling to make two ends meet UMK came to our rescue like angels. We assure you of our prayers. Very touched by the simplicity and genuine desire to serve the poor of your members. Keep going Jesus who said even if you give a glass of water to anyone in my name he would reward will surely reward all of you. God bless you all.
