Kannada film producer, director K Prabhakar passes away at 64

Bengaluru, Aug 27: Renowned Kannada film director and producer K Prabhakar has passed away at the age of 64. He breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar, Bengaluru on Tuesday afternoon.

K Prabhakar had been admitted to the hospital a few days ago following a heart attack, but despite medical efforts, he could not recover.

K Prabhakar was a distinguished figure in the Kannada film industry, known for producing several superhit films. His notable works include "Avale Nanna Hendthi", "Muddina Mava", "Tumbida Mane", and "Solillada Sardara". He also produced the popular film "Anna - Thangi", starring Shivarajkumar and Radhika Kumaraswamy. In addition to his contributions to Kannada cinema, he also invested in films in the Telugu film industry.

K Prabhakar resided in Bengaluru. His passing is a significant loss to the film fraternity.

Among his notable productions are "Avale Nanna Hendthi" with Kashinath and Bhavya, "Ellara Anthalla Nanna Ganda" featuring Vishnuvardhan and Prema, and "Lava Kusha" with Upendra and Shivarajkumar.

He also financed "Tumbida Mane" and "Solaillada Sardara". Known for creating family-friendly films, his work has left a lasting impact on the Kannada film industry.
