Mangalore, Nov 18: The grand finale of the inter parish singing competition in memory of  Wilfy Rebimbus is currently in the news for its concept and unique style of  presentation. The event will be held at 6.00 pm on Sunday November 20 at Jeppu Church  grounds.

This event is the first of its kind in the city. Jeppu parish priest, parish Parishat,  and the parishioners have decided to give a very fitting tribute to this great legend of  our time. Some of the highlights of the grand finale will be:

• Video clipping of the contestants along with their mentors
• Contestants will sing a song of their choice from Wilfy’s compositions and another song of Wilfy’s as provided by the organizers, on the original music track
• Performance by some of the leading singers of ‘Legends’ troupe

The contest promises to be a nail biting battle between five parishes of the diocese  with rendition of most of Wilfy’s best songs. 

The qualifying round was held earlier this month and a total of 10 parishes took part in  this. Cascia, Cordel, Derebail, Milagres, and Valencia parishes have qualified for the  grand finale.  This inter parish competition is also a part of the celebration for ‘Ek Dees Wilfyaba Sangim’, a day dedicated to Wilfy Rebimbus by Jeppu parish, which will be held on Sunday November 27 on the parish grounds.

It will raise funds for the medical needs of the less fortunate parishioners. Parish priest Fr Nelson Almeida has appealed to all Wilfy fans and generous people to come forward and contribute to this good cause and be a part of this celebration as an honor to this great singing legend, who throughout his life, had contributed his talent to the good causes in society.
