Bantwal: CM Sadananda Gowda Questions Integrity of Civil Society

Bantwal, Nov 18: Referring to former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde’s remarks that corruption has engulfed each and every department of the state government, CM Sadananda Gowda questioned whether Civil Society was free of corruption. Accusing anyone without proper evidence is not acceptable, he said.
He said this during his interaction with media persons on his visit to inaugural ceremony of 17th DK district Kannada Sahithya Sammelan organized at Alike.
After landing at helipad in Shree Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka, here on Friday November 18, answering to a query on corruption charges alleged against minister V Somanna, the CM said that he does not want to comment on any accusations when law pertaining to it is handling the matter.
Commenting on Bellary by-election, CM said that former CM Yeddyurappa will campaign in the coming days for the party; the election will be won by the party on the grounds of united leadership in the party.
About delay in appointing Lokayukta in the state, he said that another round of talks will be held with the governor soon.
He also opposed the proposed ‘prevention of communal and targeted violence bill’ and said that it is a biased move of the central government and has the aim of appeasing minority people.
Later in the day CM will proceed to Vittal to examine the various developmental works.
