Thai Flood Toll Touching 600


Bangkok, Nov 18 (IANS): At least 594 people have died in floods in northern Thailand, the disaster prevention officials said Friday.

The floods, triggered by monsoon rains, have inundated a huge area in northern Thailand since mid July, causing widespread devastation.

Nineteen of the country's 77 provinces are still reeling under floods, affecting some five million people, Xinhua reported.
