Mangaluru, Sep 5: A confrontation between the conductors of two private buses over scheduling issues escalated into a public brawl at the Thokkotu overbridge on September 4, with the video of the incident going viral on social media on Thursday, September 5.

The altercation occurred between the operators of Padma Travels, which runs between Thalapady and Mangaluru, and PTC Travels.

The fighting conductors have been identified as Vishnu of Padma and Ajay of PTC travels.

The conflict began when one bus was positioned obstructively in front of the other, leading to a dispute. Subsequently, the two operators engaged in a public altercation, exchanging verbal abuse and physical blows.

The fight caused discomfort among the female passengers on the buses. Local auto-rickshaw drivers intervened to stop the altercation.

A case has been registered under CR No. 163/2024, US 194(2) BNS, and the investigation is ongoing. Preventive cases will also be filed against both accused.

Smart city, crores spent on development, more to be spent on further developments. Basic amenities like drains, pot hole free roads, dengue, malaria , fumigation or proper collection of waste is still a luxuary. New buildings built with public funds for the public interests are not operational bcos of political interests. Petty issues like bickering over communally sensitive issues have become highlight to divert people's attention from failure of the local authorities who failed to provide smart people with basic amenities like clean odorless, colorless portable coRF poration water . Bus operators, conductors ,drivers , cleaners are individuals who are above laws. They are the lifeline of this smart city so none will touch them bcos it will affect vote bank RTO DC and high ranking officials who order things to control these so called public transport service providers for the safety and security of the general public forget their own orders with time. Only one thing general public can expect is that if v request them to do their stunts and fighting in some grounds with approval of RTO they can generate income and entertainment for this festive season.
