Mangaluru, Sep 6: Carmel School celebrated Teachers' Day with grandeur on September 5, as a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated staff. The entire programme was meticulously organised by the students, showcasing their appreciation and admiration for their teachers.

The celebration took place in the school auditorium, beginning with a warm welcome of the staff. Each teacher was greeted with a flower and escorted to the venue, setting a tone of gratitude and reverence. The event commenced with a solemn prayer service, seeking God’s blessings on the teachers, followed by a welcome address by the school pupil leader, Akshaj.

A series of entertainment programs ensued, including energetic dance performances and a well-crafted skit, much to the delight of the audience. To add a fun twist to the day, spot games were conducted, where the teachers participated enthusiastically, filling the room with laughter and camaraderie.

A special moment in the programme was the recognition of the entire school workforce. The students took a moment to express their appreciation, not only for the teaching staff but also for the non-teaching and office staff, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. Appreciation awards were presented to them, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

In the afternoon, the PTA executive members took over the festivities, organizing a joyful event for the teachers. Various games were held, designed to lighten their spirits and brighten their day, making the celebration even more memorable.

During her presidential address, the school principal, Sr Lilly Pushpa, extended her heartfelt wishes to the teachers. She eloquently compared teachers to the sea—deep, vast, and life-giving, constantly in motion and dynamic. Her words resonated with everyone present, leaving a lasting impact.

The programme was emceed by Dr Rochelle Tellis, who kept the flow engaging and vibrant. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ashok M Prasad, the PTA vice president, who expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.

In the days leading up to the celebration, a bulletin board competition was held where students creatively decorated the boards as a tribute to their beloved teachers, adding a beautiful visual element to the event.

The Teachers' Day celebration at Carmel School was a memorable occasion, filled with joy, appreciation, and moments that will be cherished for years to come.
