Mangalore: Talents Converge at St Aloysius 'Pre Unique-2011'

Mangalore, Nov 19: 'Pre Unique-2011', the cultural fest of St Aloysius Pre-University College was formally inaugurated on Friday November 18 by chief guest C Mallikarjuna, regional transport minister at the college campus.
 
Speaking on the occasion he said, "Fests give opportunity for students to exhibit their talents and also show their organizing skills. It helps them to develop leadership qualities and also learn how to work in a team." He lauded the college for giving space and platform for the development of leadership qualties.

Fr Joseph Ignatius Rodrigues, who presided over the inaugural ceremony advised students to make use of the given opportunity. "The fest provides a space to grow in all aspects. It’s the occasion to grow in intellect," he added.

As many as 18 colleges registered on the first day and many more are likely to join on day 2. There are 25 events and 28 competitions connected to science, maths, speech and writing skills. The purpose is to give importance to intellectual and cultural exposure of the varied talents of the students of the state, said one of the lecturers. 

Fr Elvis C Lewis, the administrator, John E D'Silva, the principal, Ashwin Veigas  the convener were present at the inaugural function.
