Davanagere, Sep 8: St Aloysius International School and PU College, Harihara, celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm and joy on September 5. The event, coordinated by Shabeena from the school and Jose Antony from the college, brought together students, teachers, and esteemed guests to honor the valuable contributions of teachers.

The emcees for the programme were Saniya and Umme Hanee. The programme began with an invocation and interreligious prayer setting a harmonious and inclusive tone for the celebration. This was followed by a welcome speech highlighting the significance of the day, reminding everyone of the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the future of the students.

To express their gratitude and appreciation, the students presented saplings to all the teachers as a token of love and respect. This thoughtful gesture symbolized growth, nurturing, and the lasting impact teachers have on their students lives.

The celebration continued with a series of cultural performances by the students. The school children presented a melodious song dedicated to their teachers, creating a heartfelt atmosphere. The PU boys then energised the audience with a dynamic dance performance, followed by an equally captivating dance by the school children. The PU girls concluded the cultural segment with a graceful dance performance that was warmly received by all.

The school newsletter 'The Aloysian Ignite' was inaugurated. The newsletter aims at providing the major happenings of the school.

The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Fr Eric Mathias SJ, director of St Aloysius School and PU College; Grace Noronha, school advisor; Pushpalatha URS, principal of the PU college; Fr Vinod AJ SJ, principal of the school; Pascal Fernandes and Mohsin Ulla, vice principals; Sr Shanthi David FSI, the vice-principal of the school, Fr John Baptist SJ, the gents hostel director, science dean; Nadeem Ullah, and Abdul, the commerce dean. Their presence added prestige to the event, and they actively participated in celebrating the dedication and hard work of the teachers.

The celebration ended on a high note, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present. It was a day filled with joy, gratitude, and appreciation, marking another memorable Teachers' Day celebration at St Aloysius International School and PU College, Harihara.
