Mangaluru, Sep 8: St Aloysius College Higher Primary School celebrated Teachers Day on September 4 with all enthusiasm. The event was organised by the students of class 3, who put together a memorable and heartwarming programme to honor the teachers.

The programme commenced with a prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the event. The welcome speech was delivered by III standard children, who warmly greeted the esteemed guests, including the correspondent, Fr Johnson Pinto SJ and the chief guest, Dr Christopher D’Souza, the president of the Alumni Association.

 

The occasion was graced by the presence of PTA vice-president Victor Serrao, PTA members, headmistress Jositta Noronha, teachers, supporting staff and the students.

The dignitaries paid tribute to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by offering floral respects to his portrait, honoring his legacy as an educator and philosopher. Following this, Apsanamulla of class 3 gave an insightful speech about the significance of the day. The students then delighted the audience with a special wishing song and an enchanting dance performance dedicated to their beloved teachers.

The programme also included a moment of pride, as students selected for state-level competitions were recognised for their achievements. The PTA members then took over the stage to continue the Teachers' Day celebration. Their segment began with a captivating group dance, followed by a solo performance by Sathwika Rai. The PTA members also sang a heartfelt song to express their appreciation for the teachers.

In a touching gesture, mementos were presented to the teachers by the PTA as a token of gratitude for their dedication and hard work. In his message, Fr Johnson Pinto SJ emphasised the importance of celebrating Teachers Day with students. He said, a stone, when sculpted with care, becomes a beautiful statue, students are shaped into better individuals by the guiding hands of teachers. He expressed his gratitude to the class 3 students and the PTA for their tireless efforts in organizing such a meaningful event.

PTA member Sabeeha Fathima extended her thanks to all the teachers, acknowledging the sacrifices they make to nurture the students. The programme was compered by the PTA member Semeena and the vote of thanks was proposed by PTA secretary Shoba Pinto.

The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. The PTA also conducted team games in the afternoon. Thus it was a day filled with fun, gratitude, and respect for the teachers who shape the future.
