Mangaluru: Man dies after handling Russel's viper mistaking it for non-venomous

Mangaluru, Sep 13: A man lost his life in Bajpe after he was bitten by a venomous Russell's Viper snake he mistakenly believed to be harmless.

The deceased has been identified as Ramachandra Poojary (55) of Bajpe.

On September 12, a Russell's Viper appeared in the vicinity of Bajpe, and Ramachandra, thinking it was a non-venomous species, attempted to catch it with his hands. However, the snake bit him.

Initially, Ramachandra did not take the bite seriously and returned home. By the evening, his health deteriorated, and he was admitted to a hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away on Friday, September 13.

    Trying to become a hero in public is dangerous to health. Negligence of small bite is also a dangerous. Non poison or poisonous is very difficult to identify in snake spices. So take care when handling snakes and dont neglect the small bite of reptiles. U tube training is problem every where.

    Krait is known as silent killer as it bites during night with people in sleep with no symptoms as its bite is just like mosquito bite. In the morning people get stomach pain which is very late stage and death is imminent. But if it's Russells viper being a litter might be having a small quantity of venom with delayed action causing death finally. Professional handlers know how to handle the poisonous snakes with training and proper equipment preventing bites but sometimes even a small error is very dangerous.
