Udupi, Sep 17: “It is important to watch the whole movie to understand the context," said Arjun Kapikad, actor over 'Kaljiga' movie controversy, in the press meet held on September 17.

Arjun Kapikad, actor, addressing the criticism regarding certain scenes in the movie, said, “Some critics have commented on scenes without viewing the entire film. It is important to watch the whole movie to understand the context and message. The film has the answer to all questions, what happens to one if he disrespects the demi-god and to one who respects the demigod. The way the demi-god is shown in the film also matters.”

Arjun Kapikad, highlighted the film's strong message and its successful screenings. “Our shows have been houseful since the release. The movie has been released in every theatre and where enquired about our movie. It is our duty to ensure that a film with a meaningful message reaches as many people as possible. The title ‘Kaljiga,’ which means Kaliyug in Tulu, was chosen to reflect the film's themes and to raise awareness about the Tulu language.”

Sumanth Suvarna, director, said, “The film 'Kaljiga' has been garnering positive feedback from audiences across Karnataka, particularly in the coastal regions. The film, which premiered on September 13, has been praised for its family-friendly content and its core message of adhering to Dharma and the path of truth. Kaljiga, along with entertainment, gives a good message that if one follows darma, will protect him.”

Sumanth, stating about the portrayal of demi-gods in the film, said, “The demi-god in the film is merely a character played by an actor, and we have taken care to ensure there is no insult intended. We included a disclaimer to prevent misuse of the film’s content. Our aim is to revive the tradition of showcasing divine themes in cinema, rather than focusing solely on conflicts as seen in recent films.”

Sharath Kumar, producer, said, “The movie has been successfully screened in the coastal region and has been well-received. It is a family entertainment film that emphasizes the importance of following Dharma. We encourage everyone to watch the film and extend their blessings. Making a movie involves many challenges, both during production and post-screening.”

Manju Suvarna was present in the press meet.
