Mangaluru: Yenopoya College participates in International Democracy Day celebrations

Mangaluru, Sep 20: International Day of Democracy, a remarkable 237-kilometer human chain was formed stretching from Shiroor to Sampaje, was held on September 15 under the theme 'Navigating AI for Governance and Citizen Engagement', emphasizing the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, promoting human rights and encouraging active citizen participation in the democratic process.

The students and faculty members of YPUC actively participated in this significant event, which offered them a unique experience beyond the confines of textbooks and classroom settings. The event commenced with a formal session at the KPT Circuit House.

Under the leadership of principal Uzwal Menezes, students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff assembled in college, proceeding along the route between Maroli and Padil. With flags and tricolor ribbons in hand, they stood in solidarity, proudly chanting 'Jai Bharat' and 'Jai Karnataka'.
