Beltangady: Couple ends life by hanging from tree

Beltangady, Sep 20: A couple died by hanging near Kashipatna in Beltangady taluk in the late hours of September 19.

The deceased have been identified as Nonaiah Poojary (63) and his wife Baby (46), residents of Urdugudde in Kashipatna. Late last night, they hanged themselves from a tree near their house.

Nonaiah Poojary's first wife had passed away 10 years ago, after which he married Baby. For the past five years, Nonaiah had been suffering from severe headaches, which reportedly caused him distress.

Additionally, Baby was dealing with the emotional strain of not having children. It is suspected that these reasons led to their suicide.

A case has been registered at Venur police station.
