Udupi, Sep 28: Renowned and award-winning photographer Gurudath Kamath passed away on September 28 in Mangaluru.
Kamath’s death is a significant loss for the photography community in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts. A self-trained commercial photographer and trainer, he was based in Udupi, Karnataka, and was also a passionate traveller and avid trekker.
Throughout his career, he taught photography courses at the Architecture College, M I T, and the Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration in Manipal.
He documented the Paryaya tenure of Sri Shiroor Math at Udupi Sri Krishna Math, maintaining a website that showcased daily updates from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, he designed and organised YHAI Karnataka State Level Treks in 1997, 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2006.
