Bantwal, Sep 30: The 7th annual general meeting of the Dakshina Kannada District Shamiyana Mahalakara Sangha was held at the Swarsya Kala Mandira in B C Road, under the presidency of district president Babu K Vittla.

In his address, he expressed his happiness that the Shamiyana organization, which began in rural areas, is progressing like a disciplined family and moving from darkness to light. He emphasized that the organization should focus on socially relevant programs through new ideas. He also announced the purchase of land for the organization's dream project and requested the members' cooperation in the planning of a well-equipped building in the future. He urged the taluk presidents to respect the members, address their issues, and refrain from disrespectful actions, stating that the partnership of members is essential for the organization's overall development.

Present on the dais were district secretary Nishith Poojary, district treasurer Balakrishna Kadri, president of the Bantwal unit Srinivas Poojary, president of the Moodabidri unit Shivaprasad Hegde, president of the Beltangady unit Harish Kumar, president of the Vittla unit Chandrahasa Suvarna, and district vice-presidents Abdul Latif and Clever D'Souza.

Members who worked for the development of the organization, including Ivan D'Souza from the B C Road unit, Stany Pinto from the Mangaluru unit, Darnappa Gowda from the Beltangady unit, Gangadhara Shetty from the Moodabidri unit, and Sanjeev Poojary from the Vittla unit, were honored for their contributions.

Past presidents Maxin Swikera from Bantwal, Yuvaraj Suvarna from Mangaluru, Prabhakar Shetty from Beltangady, Ganapati Pai from Moodabidri, and others who contributed to the land acquisition for the shamiyana were also recognized and honored.

District secretary Nishith Poojary presented the annual report, while the district treasurer submitted the annual accounts. Subhashchandra Jain welcomed the attendees, and Clever D'Souza delivered the vote of thanks. The program was hosted by Manohar Kumar from Beltangady.
