Kuwait: KVWA Hosts Delightful Christmas Party

Kuwait, Nov 27: Kundapur Varado Welfare Association Kuwait (KVWA) celebrated Christmas party on Friday November 25 at Salmiya Co-operative marriage hall, Salmiya.

The programme commenced at 7 pm with light music provided by DJ Spinners. Jason Lasrado, the compere of the programme gave a brief introduction and explained that KVWA came into existence with the Motto 'United We Stand, United We Serve', with the main purpose of supporting the education needs of children back in India.

Roshan Olivera led the opening prayer invoking blessings from the almighty. President Nancy Menezes along with Dony and Olwin were welcomed to the stage for lighting of the lamp. Chief guest of the programme Fr Noel Almeida, programme sponsor Archie Menezes, visiting priests, vicar general of Mangalore diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu and parish priest of Milagres Church Fr Walter D’Mello were welcomed to the stage and were honoured with bouquets.

President of KVWA Nancy Menezes welcomed the guests and the members of KVWA and thanked every member for their support while also thanking the sponsors, co-sponsors, advertisers, donors, benefactors and also the child sponsor for their kind contribution. Fr Noel Almeida spoke a few words during the occasion. The sponsors were honoured with bouquets and mementoes.

Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu briefed their mission of Post Centenary Silver Jubilee of Mangalore Diocese at the beginning of the new year to the audience. Meritorious students of 10th and 12th standards were honoured by Fr Noel Almeida. Ballerines entertained the audience with their foot tapping dances whereas Lancy Rodrigues sung few classic Hindi oldies. Different games were held for children as well as adults. Galore of prizes were distributed in the form of spot prizes, raffle drawand Housie play. Little stars of KVWA were crowned and honoured with gifts.

Children were mesmerized at the entry of Santa Claus. Sunitha led the grace before meals. Delicious food was served to the audience. Vote of thanks was proposed by vice-president Donny and the programme came to an end with masala dance and Lavdaate.
