Bantwal, Oct 2: As part of Karnataka’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the 'Golden Karnataka Chariot', which has been traveling across the state, entered Bantwal taluk on October 2. The chariot was warmly welcomed at B C Road by the taluk administration, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and various other departments.

Bantwal tahsildar Archana Bhat, taluk panchayat executive officer Sachin Kumar, district officer of the backward classes welfare department Bindya Nayak, and president of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bantwal taluk, Vishwanath Bantwal offered garlands to the idol of Bhuvaneshwari aboard the Golden Karnataka Chariot, which showcases Karnataka’s achievers and cultural heritage.

Speaking on the occasion, tahsildar Archana Bhat said, "The chariot is traveling across the state to mark 50 years of Karnataka, helping us understand the rich heritage and achievements of our land and waters."

On behalf of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, guidance committee member Harish Mambadi urged people to preserve the culture of the land by speaking Kannada in their daily activities.

Also present on the occasion were Sunitha, assistant director of the social welfare department, Bantwal town inspector Ananthapadmanabha, deputy tahsildars Naveen Benjanapadavu, Divakar Muguliya, Narendranath Mittur, taluk panchayat officer Prakash, district committee member of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Poovappa Neralakatte, Panemangalore hobli president P Muhammad, Vittal hobli president Ganesh Prasad Pandelu, executive committee members Rajani Chikkayamat, various department officials, and members of the public.
