Kasargod: Fishing accident - Youth’s body found at Kumble Arikkady shore

Kasargod, Oct 2: The body of a young man who drowned while fishing at the Kumble Peruvad coast was found on Wednesday, October 2 afternoon at the Arikkady shore.

The deceased has been identified as Arshad (19), a resident of the Peruvad Kadappur Fisheries Colony.

On October 1 evening, while casting nets for fishing, he was swept away by the strong waves and drowned. Locals, police, and fire department personnel had conducted a search operation.

Meanwhile, fishermen at Arikkadi shore noticed the body and informed the police. The Kumble police arrived at the scene, conducted a formal inspection, and moved the body to the Kasargod General Hospital.

After a post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family in the evening.
