Beltangady, Oct 3: A six-year-old girl died after a door frame, which was kept for installation in a new house, fell on her at Kerya Konale near Kundadka in Puttila village of the taluk.

Alfia (6), daughter of Konale residents Harris Musliyar and Asma, was the third of their four daughters and a first standard student at Kerya Government School.

Alfia’s father was constructing a new house in Kerya. On Thursday, the main door was set to be installed, and the frame was placed near the house. While Alfia was playing, the door frame suddenly fell on her, severely injuring her head. She succumbed to her injuries while being taken to Beltangady Government Hospital.
