Dubai, Nov 28: ‘Family Fiesta 2011’ will be held on Friday December 2 at the Sharjah Wanderer’s Sports Club. It is being organized by Mangalore Konkans and will begin at 10 am. The following events will be held:
Unique and Creative Hat Contest
• Pre–registration not required
• Create your own unique hat
• Contest will take place at 11:00 am
• Participants will come on the floor and exhibit their unique creations
• One contestant can present only one hat
• Judging will be on creativity and presentation and three hats will be chosen as the best
.
Tug of War
This will be held from 11:30 am onwards in the following categories
• 2 groups of youth (12–18 years)
• 2 groups of ladies
• 2 groups of gents
• 2 mixed groups
Each group should have10 members. The contest is limited to 8 groups and 80 members. Hence, groups will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis.
On the Spot Dance Contest
Couples who can dance really well have great opportunity to enter into On the Spot Dace Contest. While contesting couples will enjoy dancing and at the same time entertain the audience with their rhythmic swings, the best three will carry home lovely prizes.
Kids Corner, Face Painting & Henna, Novelty Dance, Christmas Jamboree, Christmas Tableau, Arrival of Santa and distribution of gifts are the other interesting attractions at Family Fiesta 2011.
For all those who are blessed with the talent of Art and Creativity, you have a chance to exhibit your Creative Hat during the event. A panel of judges will choose the most creative hat made by the participant and of course audience will be thrilled to see most beautiful and creative hats being exhibited by through a cat walk.
For those who love to tap their feet to the rhythm of The Big City Band and DJ will surely shed their calories dancing till the sunset. Couples who would like to exhibit their dancing skills in Waltz, Jiving, Rock n Roll and Cha Cha Cha, will even have an avenue to win prizes for their best performance.

Kids will be overwhelmed to have their face painted, thrilled in the bouncy castles excited playing the tricky games. The adults and Dads & Mum’s can be hastle & care free, engaged in dancing doing justice to the live band, play & win prizes & even get henna on their palms. As in the past several Fiestas, all the dance floor is yours to exhibit your skills of course by wearing the lucky novelties..
In addition, to boost the spirit of Christmas, a Christmas Carol Jamboree is on the anvil. We want you to stay longer to watch the high profile choreographed Scene of Nativity, to bring out your emotions in disbelief & reveal the Joy of Christmas. Long awaited Santa will arrive finally to the cheer and thrill of all anxious kids and will not leave without giving away the goodies.
The proceedings of the whole event will be compered by the one and the only ERROL GOVEAS who will engage you in high gear and leave you fully charged for the rest of the day.
