Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College celebrates Gandhi Jayanti

Mangaluru, Oct 3: "Live as if you were to die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever", the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti holds special significance as it commemorates the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. To honour his life and teachings, St Agnes PU college organized a special programme with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event aimed to remind everyone of Gandhiji's timeless values of truth, non-violence, simplicity and peace.

On this occasion, Diya welcomed the gathering. Bhamathee and team presented soulful bhajans to commemorate this day. A floral tribute was offered by the principal, vice principal, the teachers and the students. Roopashree inspired everyone with a thought-provoking speech on the significance of this day.

A dance, depicting the life of the Mahatma was beautifully portrayed by Diya and Prithvi. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Anagha. The celebration captured the essence of Gandhiji's philosophy and values, making it a memorable experience. A cleanliness drive was also organised in honour of Gandhi Jayanthi by the cleanliness committee of the college. Staff and students actively participated in this drive.

Sr Norine D’Souza, principal; Sr Janet Sequeira, vice principal; Avitha D’Souza, convenor; teaching and support staff along with the students were present on the occasion.
