USWAS Shirva's 'Kala Sangam': A night of unstoppable rhythm & rapture

Dubai, Oct 3: Full house, three years of sold-out success, and 1500 seats filled with enthusiastic audience. Another seamless, inspiring and memorable event for USWAS Shirva was witnessed on Saturday, September 28 in the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, The Indian High School, Dubai. KALA SANGAM, presented by USWAS Shirva in association with Precious Parties & Entertainment LLC was dedicated to celebrating the fusion of music and comedy whilst fostering a vibrant atmosphere of creativity and joy.

The audience were greeted by the USWAS committee members. The volunteers ensured every guest was made comfortable. Roshan Menezes, commenced the programme with prayer and the USWAS theme song. A special tribute moment was dedicated to the late Valerian Mendonca, who had composed the USWAS theme song, also, the late Ivan D’Souza, founder member of USWAS and a video montage ‘Tribute of Love’ to Sharan D’Souza, founder member of USWAS. As a sign of respect and to preserve love for Sharan, flowers were offered by his wife Elvira D’Souza, Fr Derick D’Souza, Godwin Aranha, Franky D’souza, Benedict Pinto, Alfred Britto, Manoj Menezes, and president Joel Tauro.

Vernon D’Souza opened the programme with a warm and enthusiastic welcome, instantly capturing the audience’s attention. With a few well-timed jokes and an engaging smile, he encouraged everyone to embrace the spirit of the event. The auditorium was filled with energy, with pulsing lights as it danced in time with the vibrant beats, creating an immersive atmosphere that left everyone breathless. Fueling the anticipation as the numbers ticked down, stunning visuals flashed across the screen as Kala Sangam was being announced.

The stage was set for an unforgettable experience. Carol Danthy took the stage, the auditorium was enveloped in her soulful voice. She joined the other artistes for a series of duets, whether harmonizing with Ashwin’s dynamic energy or sharing a tender moment with Maxim’s heartfelt melodies, Carol’s voice complemented her partners beautifully.

Next to perform was the romantic, talented, and versatile singer, Ashwin D’Costa. He effortlessly blended powerful vocals with captivating dance moves, transforming the stage into a lively celebration. He truly left an indelible mark on the evening, setting the bar high for the performances to come.

Evergreen Yuva-Pratiba & Melody Star, Maxim Pereira, launched into his own song composition, a beautiful blend of catchy melodies and poignant themes that resonated deeply with everyone present. He not only showcased his immense talent but had also created a memorable moment that left everyone buzzing with exhilaration.

Lavita Lobo set the stage on fire with her powerful vocals and captivating presence. Her incredible versatility by singing in six different languages, mesmerizing the audience with her linguistic prowess and cultural range was spectacular. From soulful songs to upbeat numbers, she effortlessly transitioned between styles, captivating everyone in attendance.

Lavita and Ashwin’s performed a series of captivating duets, upbeat numbers, and had everyone clapping along, thoroughly enchanted by the dynamic duo.

Nitesh Shetty, known for his standout performances on ‘The Great India Laughter Challenge’ and as a runner-up in ‘India’s Laughter Champion’, truly made a mark as a game changer. His comedy touched on everyday life, social norms, and the quirks of Indian culture, making it both funny and relatable. Nitesh has a unique style that blends storytelling with punch-lines.

BAND V6, led by Deepak Machado, supported by talented musicians like Prashanth Sequeira, Vincent Rodrigues, Floyd Pereira, Ian Saldanha and Sameer Purakkotagath made a significant impact on the music scene. Each member brought their unique flair, creating a powerful rhythm of the drums to the electrifying guitar. The stage presence was magnetic. Ocean Events, the dancers flowed seamlessly around the stage, their vibrant costumes adding an extra layer of visual delight. The interplay of lights on the stage created a stunning atmosphere, which was perfectly managed by Broadway Events & Production. Together, this blend of music, dance, and visual artistry created an unforgettable night, leaving everyone exhilarated and wanting more.

Spiritual director of the Konkani community of St Mary’s Church Dubai, Fr Victor Fernandes was felicitated by the organizers of the event. Fr Derick D’Souza along with president Joel Tauro, appreciated all our sponsors towards for their invaluable contribution. Many individuals and companies supported the event in the capacity of sponsors. The organizers were grateful towards their support in making the event possible. President of USWAS Shirva Joel Tauro in his speech thanked all who supported the event for its great success.

The organizers were truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the audience, who travelled from all over the UAE, GCC, and even India to be part of the celebration. The event created a vibrant atmosphere filled with tremendous applause, resonating with the energy of music lovers from diverse backgrounds. The carefully curated list reflected a blend of genres, ensuring that everyone found something to connect with, from nostalgic classics to contemporary hits. The dynamic energy on stage, combined with the crowd's enthusiastic response, created an unforgettable experience.
